What is Metabolic Syndrome?

Metabolic Syndrome refers to a group of conditions that together increase the risk of coronary artery disease, diabetes, stroke, and other conditions. It is also known as Insulin Resistance Syndrome. If you have any 3 of the following, you could be diagnosed with Metabolic Syndrome: an increased waistline, high blood sugars, high blood pressure, high triglycerides, or low good cholesterol (HDL).
